National Rifle Association Endorses Representative Kirby in Reelection Bid

LOGANVILLE (October 1, 2014) | Representative Tom Kirby (R-Loganville) recently earned the endorsement of the National Rifle Association for his diligent efforts to protect Second Amendment rights.

Said Daniel Carey, Georgia Liaison of the NRA:

On behalf of NRA members in Georgia House District 114, I am pleased to announce your NRA-PVF “A” rating endorsement for the 2014 Georgia General Election. This endorsement is a reflection of your support for Second Amendment issues during your time in office.

In the 2013 Georgia General Assembly Legislative Session, Rep. Kirby carried HB 335, the Restoring Private Property Rights for Places of Worship of 2013. The bill would have repealed bans on carrying firearms in places of worship, which was later incorporated into HB 60 of 2014, the Safe Carry Protection Act.

Rep. Kirby conveyed his appreciation of the support of the nation’s preeminent pro-Second Amendment organization: “The National Rifle Association has been one of the leading defenders of the 2nd amendment.  I am proud to have earned their “A” rating for my votes relating to 2nd amendment issues.  I am extremely honored to have received their endorsement.”

Representative Tom Kirby represents the citizens of District 114, which includes portions of Barrow, Gwinnett, Rockdale, and Walton counties. He was elected into the House of Representatives in 2012, and serves as the Vice Chairman on the Human Relations & Aging Committee, Co-Chairman of the Unemployment Subcommittee, and Secretary on the Industry and Labor Committee. He also serves on the Agriculture & Consumer Affairs and the Small Business Development committees.
